Alabama may not be too fab when it comes to education, politics, health, and humidity levels, but the state is top-notch when it comes to it's coast.

I've had the opportunity to enjoy a couple of coasts in my life, and the Alabama coast is at the top. (Well, just under the French Riviera, but really, there's no competition there.)

White fluffy sand, not overly crowded, and just enough southern charm.

Today I'm dreaming heavily of the Alabama coast, as I'm packing for a couple-week long working vacation with the family. A leg of this trip includes a trip to the beach, so while I'm doing laundry, changing sheets for the house sitter, and nursing a post-vaccine-fevered Cute Kid, my head is really in the clouds looking forward to digging my toes in that warm Gulf sand.

Don't worry. I'll have a beach cocktail for you too.
