Life in the Mountains

Sometimes I gripe about living in the mountains of North Carolina, living in a town of less than 2,000 inhabitants, with no Target, airport, or like-minded souls to speak of.

But this place is beautiful. Breathtaking. Quiet. We sleep with all our windows open and get awoken by birds. We have a view that's to die for.

We moved here 2 years ago tomorrow, and as much as I occasionally dream about moving to the city, I know we'll never live anywhere quite like this again.

Which is why we've decided to stay for another year. We're not ready to leave just yet.

(The video above was shot on a recent hike on Mt. Jefferson, the wonderous "peak" we can see from our back porch. It's perfect.)

Oh, Nene. I didn't want to make you cry. :-D

Ooh! So nice to see what your area looks like! Also... I love when people take the time to make videos. What made you guys decide to move to the mountains?

Amanda - Glad you like! We moved here for David to get his masters. The university is in a super hippy, over-populated town about 30 minutes away, and we didn't want to live there so we moved here instead!

Great video! I absolutely love living here in the mountains. There's something about this place & it's beauty that inspires creativity in me. Speaking of like-minded people, at least we're semi-close to each other. We really need to get together sometime
this summer to meet! Would be fun!
